Ms. Kris Nickless
Forensic Psychologist BPsych; MPsych (Forensic); MFMH Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays Adults and older adolescents Kris has a focus on supporting individuals with complex needs, interpersonal difficulties, grief, substance use difficulties, anger, depression, and anxiety. She also has broad experience and passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma and those working in frontline services. At the core of her work Kris focuses connecting and understanding each individual and creating a space and treatment approach that meets individual needs. Originally, Kris’ training and background was around working with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and legal difficulties (hence Forensic Psychologist); though over the last 5 years she has focused her professional development and work to within private practice. Kris draws on the therapeutic approaches and principles relating to Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic principles. She has also completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Kris is a Board approved supervisor. In addition to working with depression and anxiety, Meagan has a particular interest in working with experiences of trauma, interpersonal difficulties and adjustment to life transitions. Meagan is trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Schema Therapy, cognitive behaviour approaches (such as CBT and ACT) as well as mindfulness-based approaches. She is receptive to individuals and works flexibly to select the appropriate modality based on the presenting issue. Medicare bulk billing is available for health care card holders. Ms. Heidi Ryan Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist BHlthSci(OT), MMentHlth(ChildPsychotherapy), AHPRA, OTR, CPPAA Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays Children, adolescents and parents Heidi has completed her full clinical child and adolescent psychotherapy training and is an eligible Medicare provider. She is one of only two practising mental health clinicians in Ballarat who have completed this level of training required for membership to the Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of Australia (www.cppaa.org.au). Heidi has almost 20 years’ experience in the public and private sector providing specialist mental health assessment and therapy for children, adolescents, parents and families; in Melbourne, Ballarat and in the UK. She works closely with clients and their parents in uncovering a greater understanding and a way through difficulties through use of play, drawings and verbal communications. An individually tailored approach draws from various psychological techniques, both time-limited and longer-term, including CBT, IPT and insight-oriented psychotherapy. Marie has completed extensive family therapy training and combines systems therapy with a range of other therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic informed practice, CBT and ACT.
