In addition to working with depression and anxiety, Meagan has a particular interest in working with experiences of trauma, interpersonal difficulties, and providing women and their families with antenatal and postnatal support. Meagan is trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behaviour approaches (such as CBT and ACT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as mindfulness based approaches. She is one of only two practising mental health clinicians in Ballarat who have completed this level of training required for membership to the Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of Australia (www.cppaa.org.au). Heidi has almost 20 years’ experience in the public and private sector providing specialist mental health assessment and therapy for children, adolescents, parents and families; in Melbourne, Ballarat and in the UK. She works closely with clients and their parents in uncovering a greater understanding and a way through difficulties through use of play, drawings and verbal communications. An individually tailored approach draws from various psychological techniques, both time-limited and longer-term, including CBT, IPT and insight-oriented psychotherapy.
